The Board of Directors of the Nyack Chamber of Commerce appointed long-time Nyack Farmers Market Manager Bill Batson Executive Director of the 68 year-old 501(C) organization at their last meeting on March 20, 2025.
“Bill joined us in 2011 as the artist-in-residence of our farmers market. Through the years, he has continued to share his creativity and initiative. Playing various roles, including marketing manager and farmers market manager, Bill has continued to help the Nyack Chamber board find new ways to help improve the business climate for our village,” said Nyack Chamber of Commerce President Roger Cohen. “Bill has an encyclopedic knowledge of Nyack and knows almost everyone in the village. He’s the perfect person to implement the vision of our board,” Cohen continued.
“Nyack has been the home to my family for generations. I am eager to have this opportunity to work with our board and chamber members to implement programs that will be beneficial to the entire community”. Said Batson. “If you want to join the chamber or learn more about our programs, you can visit me every Thursday at the Nyack Farmers Market from 8:00am – Until 2pm.”
The Nyack Chamber of Commerce also welcomed two new directors at their March meeting: Owner of Crystal on Rocks, Kim O’Leary and Wright Bros. Realty Associate Broker Kim-Adele Rosner.
Currently the Nyack Chamber of Commerce operates programs that support local small business and attract visitors to the village including:
- The year-round outdoor Nyack Farmers Market is celebrating its 30th year of operation in 2025. Almost two dozen small business provide healthy local food options of the village
- SpringFest on April 13 and SeptemberFest on September 7th bring tens of thousands of shoppers to Nyack each your. This year’s SpringFest will include a special appearance by Cohered and Cambria, an internationally renowned rock band that has deep roots in Nyack.
- An exotic car night where dozens of luxury vehicles line Main Street and families spend a beautiful summer evening enjoying the engineering and elegance.
- Networking Socials for members to interact and compare notes and collaborate. These gatherings are held at local restaurants, businesses and cultural institutions.
- A holiday lights program which brings cheer and song celebration during the winter months.
- Now in its 36th year, the Nyack Chamber of Commerce Halloween Parade is known as the best small town Halloween Parade in America.
“Bill is well known as a small arts business owner and active member of Nyack’s nonprofit community. Having his organizing skill and experience at the disposal of the Chamber of Commerce is great news for Nyack,” said Village of Nyack Mayor Joe Rand
“I look forward to working with Kim O’Leary and Kim-Adele Rosner and the entire board as we build the resilience and sustainability we need as a chamber, so that our small businesses can grow and prosper,” Batson said.

Bill Batson
Bill served as artist-in-residence, assistant manager and eventually manager of the Nyack Farmers Market from 2011 – 2025 when he was appointed Executive Director of the Nyack Chamber of Commerce, the group that sponsors the market. Bill will continue to manage the farmers market.
Bill Batson is a writer, artist and civic leader. The author and Illustrator of the Nyack Sketch Log on nyacknewsandviews.com publishing over 300 columns since 2011 about family and local history.
Bill serves as a Trustee of Oak Hill Cemetery, Trustee of the Historical Society of the Nyacks and President of the Friends of Mount Moor Cemetery.
In 2015, Bill chaired the Nyack Commemoration Committee, a group that placed a Toni Morrison Bench by the Road monument in Memorial Park. The bench commemorates the life of nineteenth century abolitionist and entrepreneur Cynthia Hesdra.
In June 2021, Bill was inducted into the Rockland County Hall Civil Rights Hall of Fame.
Kim O’Leary
Kim O’Leary was born and raised in Rockland Count and is an active member of the Nyack Community. After a debilitating car accident that ended a corporate security career, she pursued her life-long passion for jewelry design and reinvented herself as a small-business woman. Kim goes and evolved he business and in 2008, with her partner-in-crime and retired Navy spouse Charles, the founded Crystals on the Rocks.
Crystals on the Rocks is a one-stop metaphysical healing shop, specializing in high-quality gemstones and minerals, crystals and books; but what really sets them apart is their dedication to quality. Each piece is hand selected through the most reputable network of stone vendors in the United States, in some cases from mine owners themselves. Crystals on the Rocks also hosts classes, tarot card reading nights and seasonal events (including the popular winter “pick-a-chip” promotion!)
Kim is most proud that her business serves as a welcoming and healing outlet for anyone in the community seeking peace and enlightenment. She is also always ready with a pat and a treat for any furry, four legged shoppers who stop in.
Kim-Adele Rosner
Kim-Adele Rosner knows that finding the right home is about more than just square footage—it’s about finding the right fit for your life. Real Estate, she has helped countless buyers and sellers navigate the market with ease, bringing a deep knowledge of Rockland County and a keen eye for detail. She is actively involved in her community, serving as Secretary of The Angel Nyack and as a board member of Nyack’s Chamber of Commerce. She also volunteers as a Chef at Soup Angels in Nyack and offers an annual scholarship to young women headed to college or trade school.
Above all, Kim-Adele is devoted to her family and cherishes time with her adult children and loved ones while balancing a busy and fulfilling career.
