Chamber of Commerce Hosts Nyack’s Autumn Sidewalk Sale Saturday, October 13
Shoppers Shut Down Computers for Some Real Brick-and-Mortar Browsing
Great Deals From Nearly 100 Retailers and Restaurants
Sale Runs from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm ― Rain or Shine

Nyack, NY, October 3, 2018 ― Shoppers who want to spend some of their downtime offline and do some real old-fashioned brick-and-mortar browsing should be sure to get to Nyack’s village-wide sidewalk sale
on Saturday, October 13 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (rain or shine).

The Nyack Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Village of Nyack and the Art, Craft and Antiques Dealers Association (ACADA), proudly presents this special event. The sale covers the entire village ― east to west from the river to Route 9w, and north to south from Second Avenue to Cedar Hill ― all easily walkable. The village streets will open to vehicular traffic and parking.

Smart shoppers will get special deals on a wide range of goods and services offered by nearly 100 Nyack establishments ― including a broad array of retailers, as well as Nyack’s many restaurants and bars that will be joining in to offer shoppers refreshment and many delicious ways to relax.

“Nyack is a one-of-a-kind village, with an amazing array of eclectic shops and eateries concentrated within a small geographic area,” said Roger Cohen, President of the Nyack Chamber. “It’s heaven for the discerning shopper.”

“Good things come in small packages,” adds Melody Partrick, Recreation Director, Village of Nyack. “Nyack packs over 100 businesses into an area covering only about one-and-a-half square miles.”

Overlooking the Hudson River just 19 miles north of the Manhattan border at the western landing of the Tappan Zee Bridge, the village has a rich history of thriving small businesses ― offering groceries, shoes, appliances and home goods in the 1950’s and ‘60s, to fine art, crafts and antiques in the ‘70s and ‘80s and today, a broad array of clothing, gifts, antiques, art, specialty goods and more.

Today’s downtown reflects village history ― still home to artisans and collectors and even a few “home goods” stores ― but bigger and brighter than ever. Eclectic shops offer one-of-a-kind merchandise and give the malls a run for their money. The restaurants and night spots, now on the lists of the best in the Hudson Valley, offer top-rated fine cuisine, casual dining and first-class entertainment. Live theatre, live music and artistic endeavors of every description add to the mix — the “art and soul” that make Nyack unique.

“Nyack is truly a treasure trove,” said Maria Luisa Whittingham, Chamber director and owner of Maria Luisa and ML by Maria Luisa boutiques. “This village offers a special experience, a chance to slow down, savor life and appreciate the beauty of people, place, and special things.”
